Well, I guess I still have to go to work tomorrow. I don't think they'll cancel because the Phillies lost. Even though they shouldn't have. They had two games in Arizona where they had late leads and blew it. More accurately, Craig Kimbrel blew it. He signed a one year deal with Philadelphia. I highly doubt he'll be re-signed.
This sucks. At least last year, the Phillies were underdogs and nobody expected them to get as far as they did. This year was the opposite. They were expected to beat the Diamondbacks. And they should've. But life goes on. Lord knows I've had much worse problems over the past several years (hence my long absence - maybe I'll make a post about that at some point in time, but not today).
Anyway, congrats to the Phillies for making it this far. There was a point in the season where it seemed like they were pulling a '93. The 1993 Phillies went from last place, to National League Champions, and then back to (almost) last. This Phillies team proved they are a team that can contend year after year.
On the bright side, of all the Phillies 2023 post-season opponents, I'm glad it was the D-Backs. With them I'm just disappointed the Phillies lost. If it had been the Marlins or the Braves...well, I hate both of them.
As the saying goes, there's always next year. It'll be interesting to see which players are gone by that point. I can think of a few, but one in particular, who I already mentioned.
