That night, over dinner, May decided to broach the subject. "So, uh, honey. Is there something you'd like to tell me about what was going on earlier?"

    "Wha-wha-what do you mean?" Peter stammered.

    "Peter, I opened the door and you were standing there in your underwear with Ned. Why were undressed?"

    "Uh, I don't know."

    "Come on Peter, you can talk to me. Whatever it is, I won't judge you. I love you."

    Peter took a big breath and said real fast, before he could change his mind. "I'm gay. We and Ned are boyfriends."

    May smiled. "Whew. What a relief. I thought you were going to say something ridiculous, like you're Spider-Man or something."

    "Nope. Not Spider-Man. Just gay lovers with Ned. I'm sexually attracted to him. That's it. I'm definitely not Spider-Man."

    "I just want you know I love you. And um, I hope you're being safe. Just because you can't get pregnant doesn't mean you can't get other things. There's all kinds of STDs and you need to be safe."

    "May! I'm trying to eat here!"

    She laughed, "Okay, okay. You should invite him over so we can have a dinner with you two as official boyfriends."

   

    Later on that night, "Hey Ned. May wants you to have dinner with us tomorrow."

    "Awesome! Is she making her meatballs?"

    "Funny you should mention balls. Um, you have to kiss me hello when you come over."
